Pooled water, evenly held over rough and weathered timber. A cloudy glass like canvas reflecting hues of dove feathers, metallic, dishwater. A halted gait offers momentary compositions as shadows of several trees intercept the sunlight just enough to cast the more familiar hues of burnt umber, dusty chocolate, and summer wheat. With each step the composition adds and recedes shadow, passes a linear line of each board plank – a simultaneous termination and inauguration. The contrast of cool monochromatic colors at odds with moments of vibrancy. A rebellion of spring. Coming forth from underneath old snow, dampness. Linear splinter like lines fade into the wood grain, further infiltrating the muted quiet.
